As you install this new lamp, inspect the following components that can
affect its performance. Replacement parts can be ordered from Suncoast
Technologies.
Lamp Connectors
Inspect the fold plating for corrosion or flaking, and check the connector
for fatigue. The lamp should fit tightly in the connector.
Cavities and End Plates
Inspect forward, corrosion, or damage from exploding lamps in the form of
discoloration (blackened areas), cuts, or exposed substrate material. In
particular, look for wear where the flow tube is supported in the end
plate.
Lamp and Rod Flow Tubes
Inspect for spider web cracks that indicate possible failure in the
future, or any other signs of damage such as chips around the ends.
NOTE: Water spots on the cavity, end plates or
flow tubes may not be cause for replacement
unless there has been a loss in power output.
Try cleaning with methanol before replacing.
O-Rings
Inspect for flat spots or tears caused by pinching. Failure to use the
"alternate pattern" method of tightening the head block screws can cause
such pinching. (You will probably experience a water leak if the o-ring
has been damaged).
